The Batchelor Essentials

Top 5 lists hold as much weight as the Olsen Twins, but these 5 should definitely be on your shopping list at some point in your life.

The Eames Chair - Essential Relaxing
In every mans apartment, the Eames lounge chair by Herman Miller should make an appearance. It will become the one item in the house that you can rely on to relax and have some down-time. If down-time isnt your thing then shagging is another use I recommend.

Bose Stereo System - Essential Audio
Ok, I admit Bose are not the best sounding audio systems in the world, but they look great and in my books beauty goes a long way. Think of it as a supermodel who decides she wants a career in singing, even if she's not very good you'll still take her home over the ugly sister with the angelic voice any day.

A Classic Car - Essential Automotive
Imagine your comb-over getting all messed up on a sunny day whilst driving down along the ocean in your old Mercedez-Benz 280SL convertible. Comb-over or not that's stylin. Anyone can buy the latest 911 or Jag, so choose classic and something that's likely to appreciate in value over time.

An Expensive Watch - Essential Time
When you roll up to the Porsche dealership on your scooter and ask to test drive the 911 Carerra, I suggest you have a timepiece that says 'It's my mums scooter, my Ferrari is in the shop'. You'll have a nice timepiece for ever, and people notice them.

Panerai | IWC | Breitling | Rolex

A Mac - Essential Office
Don't argue, just get one already.

Big Fashion Books

I love big glossy books that take up far too much room and give off an impression of intelligence. Not only this, they're a great dust magnet and give your cleaning lady more purpose in her otherwise dull life.

Without a doubt, my favorite is...

Tom Ford by Tom Ford
Need I say more? The guys is a fashion genius and always looks like he just stepped off a movie set. His 300+ page book focuses on his work with Gucci and YSL and steps through his 10 year reign as their brands creative director. Definitely one to have!!! Buy it here

Others which are definitely worth a look are:

Gucci by Gucci - Buy it here
From paparazzi photographs to full page spreads in Vogue, this aptly lavish pictorial history chronicles Gucci's evolution since its 1921 inception in Florence, Italy.

20 Years: Dolce & Gabbana - Buy it here
To celebrate their twentieth anniversary, Italian designers Dolce & Gabbana feature their most significant fashion moments in this luxurious book. Luxurious.... great word.

Jacques Helleu and Chanel - Buy it here
Jacques Helleu is the eye behind the House of Chanel’s enduring image, having explored the meanings of this legendary brand in daring commercials and fabulous print ads for the past 40 years.

Dakota DC3 Wingtip Desk

Aviation your thing? Or maybe just spending cashing on things which none of your friends have. Either way, the DC 3 Wingtip desk is definitely one to have for the corporate office or even home office.

Each wingtip has been individually salvaged and restored to it's original glory, with european styling that retains it's 'Gooney Bird' aeronautical design.

To my knowlege there's only about 200 in existence in the world and with a price tag of $30,000 its no wonder why.
