Wife Material: Odette Yustman

After flying back into Melbourne recently I spotted a young lady who in all honesty was 'Wife Material'. Upon getting to know her it became clear she was a psycho hose beast. However I felt it was probably a good addition to add some of music, entertainment and modern dance's more eligible, respectable and beautiful young ladies.

First cab off the rank has to be Cloverfield's star, Odette Yustman. Whilst her name might be odder (no pun intended) than a midget in a top drawer, she would be more than happy to take your surname providing your bank account or record label was GFC resilient.

Apparently a down to earth girl who grew up on a farm somewhere and didn't mind a leisurely roll in the hay. Can you blame her?

Speaking of original

"Nothing is original. Steal from anywhere that resonates with inspiration or fuels your imagination. Devour old films, new films, music, books, paintings, photographs, poems, dreams, random conversations, architecture, bridges, street signs, trees, clouds, bodies of water, light and shadows. Select only things to steal from that speak directly to your soul. If you do this, your work (and theft) will be authentic. Authenticity is invaluable; originality is non-existent. And don't bother concealing your thievery - celebrate it if you feel like it."

- Jim Jarmusch

Das Monk

I have recently gone off the boil with t-shirts, namely because most of them are shit copies of others designs lacking originality. However I stumbled upon a Sydney brand called Das Monk recently. Their designs are in a word, great.

Interesting designs, good quality and not worn by every man and his dog (yet!). I have purchased the ultra cool 'impala' design to wear for my bands live performance at this weekends Kiss My Grass festival.

Simple Surfie Bracelets

For the past 5 years I've managed to happily get away with wearing a nice watch and avoiding the a-typical ring, bracelet, necklace, anklet or whatever piercings are in vogue these days. However I did happen to give in today.

No, I'm not sporting a Mr.T esque gold necklace or a Fiddy Cent bling ring, rather some very simple leather (black / brown) bracelets. Found them in a local shop and thought, why not. Have started to see a few people wearing these kinds of things of late and although it seems a little surfie, I like it when I'm going casual.

They're available on ebay in plentiful supply.

Bondi Icebergs New Years Day 2009

Joshua Jackson, Erick Morillo, Paris Hilton, Kristy Hinze, Ksubi lads, models, hip cats and everyone who's anyone decended upon the white hot new years day destination of Maurice Terzini's Icebergs on Bondi Beach in Sydney. Now in it's 7th year, we all felt it was high time we migrated north and partied til the sun went down.

The soiree for 600 people was set within a cleared Icebergs restaurant with flowing Verve, cocktails, vodka and hordouvers in plentiful suppply. The music was provided by none other than Bang Gang DJs and Sneaky Sound System to a very appreciative crowd who were heaving and hanging on every beat they dropped.

Quite possibly the best vibe I've ever witnessed and some of the hottest girls, guys and staff this side of the equator. Next year you will know where to find me... OR will you... Justin Hemme's Ivy is shaping up as a formidable rival in the NYD stakes.
