Art of the trench

Recently I was contacted by Burberry to feature their latest artofthetrench.com marketing initiative. If you looked at Gucci's recent attempt at social media you would forgive me for thinking Burberry would blow it too. However, they have done the complete opposite and excelled at creating an engaging and visually appealing digital experience.

They've teamed up with Scott Schuman of The Sartorialist and created a web experience that encourages users to share, comments and promote the best trench looks from Burberry.

Jimmy Choo for H&M Men

For us Australians we can only dream of having the likes of H&M nearby to enjoy moments like these...

Jimmy Choo and H&M have teamed up to launch a limited line of men's and womens clothing. A small collection of shoes, jackets, suits, jeans and light sweaters all branded in the famous Jimmy Choo for H&M will be released on November 14, 2009.

Tamara Mellon, founder of Jimmy Choo said, "The idea was to think about who the Jimmy Choo woman's boyfriend or husband is and what he wanted to wear,". And it seems they seriously got this right. This is supply and demand working at its best.

The Jimmy Choo for H&M collection will be available in 200 selected H&M stores worldwide.

Time to retire the RayBan Wayfarers

The Ray Ban Wayfarer Sunglasses revolution was well overdue and I'll even admit that being a hipster in his late 20's was tres awesome fun, but enough. The Ray Ban Wayfarer, coolsie haircut, skinny jeans and nonchalant look has reached tipping point. It's no longer avant-garde, rather just conforming to a global trend.

Think harder, Homer...

So what's next after the Ray Ban Wayfarer? Try some of these...

Persol - Steve McQueens. These are my fav's. Heading in a rounder classic look.
DSquared - Back to the aviator for a break. They look tough and suit most people.
Marc Jacobs - Some oddball frames by Marc Jacobs, but they're growing on me.

James Perse - Los Angeles

James Perse was born in Los Angeles, California in 1972. He spent his childhood in between playing sport and his fathers boutique. His first foray into fashion was a t-shirt line, which developed into women's knits, featuring quality construction, shape, fabric and coloring.

Today if you visit his website, he's got a great cllection of fashion, furniture and big boys toys. James is proof that a keen eye for quality design does not have to be pigeon-holed to one discipline.

Check out James Perse's fashion (tees, cardigans) and furniture here.

Graham Watches of London are one of the most over the top yet refines chronophras on the market. They scream for attention, like a two dollar tart, yet are built like a high-class lady.

Graham's oversized winder and chunky dials are what visually sets the brand apart from others as well as being British (made by Swiss of course).

Well worth a look in you're in the market for a new one.
