Moscot Eyewear NYC

Incase you didn't already know, Moscot eyewear has been a New York City institution for nearly 100 years. Impressive stuff. They're now in the 4th generation of the family business, not only creating classic eyewear for your everyday mortal (like me), but some of Hollywood's biggest names.

Moscot's motto: 'To offer the best possible optical experience to our customers and patients by dispensing warmth, courtesy and expertise.'

Their frames are ultra cool and oddball enough to get you noticed for the right reasons. Next time you're in NYC, be sure to drop by and check Moscot out.

Obey Fixed Gear Bike

Collaboration time. Obey have teamed up with japan-based Fuji bikes for this limited edition fixed gear bike. The frame itself is a matte black with all accents anodized gold. It looks slick. It also comes with a Brooks swift leather saddle, which I can tell you from personal experience, is a great thing to park your ass on.

For all you lucky US folk, you can get the Obey fixie from here.

86 Domino by Riva

I love money. Why? Because it can buy women, cars and oversized novelty Cowboy hats to wear on luxury yachts just like the 86 Domino by Riva.

It's top speed is 38 knots (that's fast), it's built for socializing and entertaining (that's cool), it features a massive sun-deck on the bow (that's massive), VIP quarters (Hollywood) and two twin-bedded guest cabins with en-suite heads (no idea what those are). I think there's not a lot of people who wouldnt want to be your best friend if you owned one.

You can find out more about the 86 Riva here.

Mens A/W 2010 Collections Milan

Whilst the city of Milan might be reminiscent of a post apocalyptic catastrophe, it will always be the home of some of the best mens fashion in the world. Zegna, Gucci, D&G, Dsquared.... you know them.

Wallpaper has been kind enough to follow all the action, which I recommend you having a look at here. They have also featured some of the action from Paris fashion week.

Get onto it.

Moritz Waldemeyer Disco Coffee Table

London-based Moritz Waldemeyer is definitely one of the most groundbreaking designers of his kind. He's renown for creating physical objects with a digital twist. When the big names need something for their shows, they come knocking on his door.

Wallpaper recently asked him to design a piece for them, with the brief of 'Home Disco'. Simple really. Grab some lights, a coffee table and plug your ipod into the dog and away you go.

It's worth looking at some of his other projects.

Paul Smith Pirroni Eyeglasses

When I think of eyeglasses on men, Austin Powers, Woody Allen and the boy I used to beat for no good reason in primary school instantly come to mind. Unfortunately I am now on the receiving end of having to wear them... karma.

So I've spent weeks hunting and recently came across these from Paul Smith. They're called the Pirroni. Not he kind of beer you smash back on a Sunday arvo in the sun, but ones for your face. Cool hey.

Chunky frames are all the rage at the moment and make no mistake I love a good rage.

New Balance 686 Snow Boot

Now I know this is a little off topic, but I love snowboarding like Tiger Woods loves cocktail waitresses. And in the spirit of the Olympic Games in Vancouver I thought I would give these New Balance 686 snowboard boots some props.

New Balance are known for their way cool runners, but for them to enter the snowboard market and go up against the likes of Burton and DC is even more way cooler.

They're touting that these bad boys fit like a sneaker and have features which include the BOA Focus lacing system, a full-grain leather upper, Recco advanced avalance resuce technology, the Rollbar stability posting system, an Abzorb cushioned foam footbed, and more.

Check the New Balance 686 Snow Boot Here.

Gordon Rush Footwear

Gordo designed is first collection in 1998, and according to his bio "has established a men’s luxury brand that is masculine and bold, sophisticated and worldly yet quintessentially American."

To me, he's just a bloke giving 100% whilst making footwear which looks great. I especially like his boots in the current collection.

Well worth having a look at his handywork.

Onya Gordo.

Loaf me once shame on you, loaf me twice...

I've successfully avoided purchasing loafers much like Lindsey Lohan avoids a good night sleep, but it seems the age and event is upon me where the lace up just won't cut it.

So for all my style aficionados and loyal readers, here's my 2 cents on the purchase of a loafer for summer.

1. Suede seems to the preferred choice at the moment for the casual look.(Hence why I am showing leather ones)
2. Brown and blue are the safest colours.
3. Can't go past Tod's as the brand of choice.
4. No socks... You're not a German sex tourist.

Any other comments to my meager knowledge of loafers are welcome.
