1955 Ferrari Berlinetta Speciale
Some say this was the .44 Magnum of sports-car racing, but only for one year, 1955. The Berlinetta was stupidly loud and had a kick like a mule. Its Formula 1 V-12 engine could blow through the opposition. Estimated at about 340 horsepower and with a 180 mph (250kmh+) top speed, the Berlinetta demanded the highest level of driving skill – especially coming out of the corners. Only 10 were produced in the hard top – a true classic piece of racing history. A recent auction fetched a handsome 3.3 million euro for this beast.
