1965 Alfa Romeo GTA

1965 saw the introduction of the Alfa Romeo GTA, the vehicular equivalent of the Renaissance man. The original was developed by Autodelta, the racing division of Alfa, and earned the A in its name from the Italian word for lightweight (“Alleggerita). In addition to its first incarnation, the GTA was also manufactured in either street (Stradale) or pure race (Corsa) trim, meaning that enthusiastic collectors could have Alfa for every occasion.  (WWW)
