1930s Goyard Wardrobe Trunk

1930s Goyard Wardrobe Trunk
Would you look at this incredible piece of luggage history? Saying “They just don’t make ‘em the way they used to” makes me sound like a crotchety octogenarian, but…they just don’t make ‘em like they used to. This 1930s Goyard Wardrobe Trunk could easily be more beautiful than any of the clothes stored in it. The trunk measures 36″ high X 21″ wide X 12.75″ deep, with cloth-covered hangars inside. On the outside it bears a distinctive Goyard pattern – hand painted, overlapping Ys – that dates it to the early 1900s (estimated to be 1930). It also retains all its original brass fittings and an engraved plate that reads “E. Goyard Aine, 233 rue St Honore Paris.”
