Christian Bale's Batsuit Is Up For Sale For Over $100K

If you’d like to make all of your childhood dreams come true then listen up, DC Comics fans. The batsuit worn by Christian Bale in Batman is expected to sell for over $100,000 AUD at an upcoming film and television memorabilia sale in the UK.

The batsuit, which appeared in the 2012 film The Dark Knight Rises, isn’t the only thing up for grabs, either. Batman’s Batpod motorcycle and more than 500 original items from other films will be available at the auction, to be held next month.

At the event, organised by Prop Store, you could get your hands on Keira Knightley’s wedding dress from Love Actually, the Sloth Mask from 1985 film The Goonies, Arnold Schwarzenegger’s original Terminator 2 Judgement Day costume, Harry Potter’s Hogwarts acceptance letter and Steven Spielberg’s clapperboard from Jaws.

For a cool $122,025 AUD you could even own a TIE Pilot helmet from Star Wars: A New Hope (1997).

“This year brings an opportunity for film fans and collectors alike to view some of the world’s most iconic film and TV items for free, and bid to secure their own pieces of movie and television history,” said Prop Store chief executive Stephen Lane.

With an original Stormtrooper helmet selling for a whopping $135,971 AUD at the auction last year, you’re best to get in quick this time around, or at least check out the full scope of what’s on offer when the auction’s items go on display to the public at a free exhibition at the BFI IMAX in central London from September 14 until sale day on September 27.
