Suits and casual events are close fashion friends nowadays. Why, men can don a two-piece suit on the weekend — and still feel comfortable and cool — much like the Italians have been privy to since always.

It’s linked to luxury menswear’s blurring of casual and formal attire: blazers are being made loose but still louche, and trousers are now commonly cropped and more relaxed in the leg, making the suit perfect for play clothes — once the office home time bell ring-a-lings.
But, not all suits are worthy for off-duty. The fabric — be it, cotton or wool — needs to be lightweight, and the jacket structure is generally void of lining and padding in the shoulder, for a natural drape over the body — nothing stiff and rigid.
The casual suit cool is ramped up by what you wear with it: a roll neck and loafers for a look that’s night-time chic or simply a t-shirt and sneakers for an urban groove in the day.

Remember: keep the look clean and neat, and bolster your casual cred with key accessories — a signet ring, watch or dapper pocket square, eschewing the restrictive formal items like a belt and tie, come the weekend.
