The cyber-canny among them go further. Luc Wiesman – who runs men’s style blog D’Marge, which has up to 200,000 visitors a month – incorporates Google’s most-searched men’s topics in his content to ensure new audiences constantly find his site. With a background in technology and building websites, ”creating a blog wasn’t hard work”.
Wiesman has learnt that his audience – primarily men – ”are attracted to pretty pictures and minimal words. They want to know what the best things to buy are, how much they cost, and that they can click through to buy them with sites I’m partnered with, such as ASOS and Mr Porter.” The 33-year-old largely avoids sponsored posts – whereby a brand pays the blogger to write about something – ”because of integrity. I say no 95 per cent of the time. I still support my life with another job; if I didn’t have that, I’d probably be less choosy.”

The word D’Marge comes from the abbreviation of ‘damage’. i.e. Do some credit card *d’marge* It’s a curated selection of fashion, people, places, design, automobiles and other male centric advice and information. It’s very eclectic in its content, meaning I have a very broad range of personal styles and interests, therefore the content matches that. I try to avoid obvious male content like naked women and super cars We would rather take a different point of view and write humorous articles about what women to avoid and which vintage cars to buy.
