#1 Chop-E Electric Bike
What’s cooler than a Chopper motorcycle? How about its smaller and greener cousin, the Chopper electric bicycle. This funky mode of transport has the goods to turn heads without all the noise and pollution of a real Chopper. The rear wheel is a massive 18-inch Pirelli item whilst the front wheel stands at 20-inches tall and 3-inches wide. The bike runs a programmable 1kW motor which can get you up to speeds of 30km/h with a range of 56km. Just don’t be riding it to your local bikie gang’s club.
#2 The Abyss Table by Duffy London
This is no ordinary coffee table. The Abyss, as its name suggests, is a stunning multi-layered art piece that also happens to double as table. Playing with design depth and geographical cross sections, the table cuts a section of earth and sea and marries them into an intriguing piece one could look at for hours. The piece is made from sculpted glass, wood and perspex.
#3 Paper Craft X-Wing Fighter
Yes it is made of paper. Uhu02 is a purveyor of fine paper craft who has focused his strengths squarely in the realm of science fiction and space travel. You can take a closer look at what he’s made via this link and then when you feel game enough, you can print out the free jpeg files that he’s uploaded so that you can make your own. The site is in Japanese but just scroll down to see the images and download the blueprints.
#4 Atelier neo-N Lamp
Bored of conventional lighting? Check out this very cool desk lamp that replicates the shape of your standard desk lamp but is made from one single length of fluorescent tubing. The only thing you’ll need to worry about is knocking it over.
#5 Ralph Lauren Skeleton Automotive Watch
Ralph Lifshitz, the man behind the Ralph Lauren label, has long been a fan of classic automobiles so it’s no suprise that he recently showcased this particular piece inspired by his own award-winning 1938 Bugatti Type 57SC Atlantic Coupe. The timepiece features a merger between fine horology and luxury car making with an open face design that shows off all the inner mechanics of the manually wound RL1967 calibre movement. Steel and brass gear elements are used throughout as is a black-shot blasted stainless steel case wrapped with a varnished bezel made from amboyna burl – a wood widely used in luxury car interiors.
#6 Waytools Textblade Portable Keyboard
When it comes to Bluetooth enabled portable keyboards, the Waytools Textblade may well be the sexiest one yet. The three-piece magnetically connected item is so small when folded away, it can actually be carried around in you pocket. The full QWERTY keyboard is an essential gadget for those who work on the fly and have a an unlimited influx of emails to reply to throughout the day.
