Our favourite luxury box on wheels returns with revamped features for 2016. If you’re thinking it looks the same, you’d be right. Most of the updates for 2016 come in the powertrain department. The latest G500 now gets a twin-turbo, direct injection V8 – a motor that shares the same blueprint as the new AMG GT and C63.
The latest package squeezes 416hp and 610Nm of torque to get the car from 0-100km/h in 5.9s – bearing in mind it weighs 2.5 tonnes. Fuel economy is also said to have improved on the new model. Want one? Mercedes-Benz Australia say that the new G-Class range is still under consideration for local sale with no confirmation yet. Sad face.
