Everyone loves a good private jet. It essentially sets the precedence for the old addage, “I’m CEO, bitch.” Well Mercedes-Benz have taken it a step further by re-imagining what the interior of their fleet of private jets would look like if they had free reigns.
Their design ethos for this exercise was simple: make the inside of a plane look less like a plane and more like your cosy mansion back home.
Mercedes-Benz Style, the automaker’s design consultancy for non-automotive projects together with aircraft company Lufthansa Technik have penned designs which feature a dynamic spiral layout that emphasises clean flowing lines unbroken by the conventional lines of modern aeroplanes.
Warm wood accents combined with white and black hues also gives the interior the class that’s expected of a Benz. If sliding cabin blinds is not your style, Mercedes have built in concealed panels which can dim the natural lighting electronically from complete blackout to full transparency.
There’s also the mandatory field of touch screens and entertainment systems integrated into the plane’s walls. Have Mercedes just created the pinnacle of mile-high luxury?
Walter Heerdt, the Senior VP at Lufthansa Technik told reporters, “Our goal is to offer a highly discerning global clientele a standard of interior design that leaves nothing to be desired.”
