When it comes to building a new home in Bantry Bay, Cape Town, this particular collaboration by SAOTA and Designer Debra Parkington pretty much hits the pinnacle of opulence. The client’s brief was to create a spectacular space which takes full advantage of 360 degree mountain and ocean views (Robben Island facing the north and Camps Bay and the Twelve Apostles looking to the south).
Open plan living areas help highlight the stunning design that resides inside the home. The site itself is built on a steep hill with the main living quarters, pool terrace and garden built on the lower levels whilst family bedrooms have been located to the upper levels for added privacy.
Those who’ve always dreamed of a lift in their home can also expect to see one in this space. A glass lift transports the occupants between levels lit with natural light and designer flair. We don’t make that statement lightly either as the garage looks more like an art instalment. We’ll take the one in white, thanks.
