In your heart, you’re Richard Branson. Your days are spent hobnobbing with celebs on your super-yacht, partying on your private island, and plotting world universe domination.
In your wallet, things look a little different. You have billion dollar dreams without the billion dollar budget.
Buck up. Even Branson only had the dreams at one point. And now, with a little help from American Express Offers, you can snag some of that Branson swag without the matching bank account.
Credit Where It’s Due
The life of a debonair man about town doesn’t come cheap. The clothes, the cars, the women, the world travels…it all adds up. The bespoke suit you splurged on doesn’t look so suave when you have to ask your date to pick up the tab.
Thankfully, it doesn’t have to be that way. AMEX has launched a revamped American Express Offers program that lets you shop your favourite brands and spend responsibly. Before you know it you’ll be on a yacht with Leo.
American Express Offers is a one-stop shop for card members that provides unique savings at some of Australia’s biggest brands (think Harvey Norman, David Jones, Liquorland, Target, Country Road, Witchery, 7-Eleven and Woolworths).
Perhaps most importantly, it’s discreet – no vouchers to print, no coupons to collect, no paper trail left behind to blow your cover. Just save the offers to your card and swipe away. Your reputation remains spotless.
Here’s how it works:
- Step One: Explore the offers online or with the American Express app (iPhone and Android)
- Step Two: Find things you covet from brands you love
- Step Three: Select as many Offers as you like and save them to your card
- Step Four: Pay with the card and your savings appear as credits on your statement
- Step Five: Live the envy-inducing life of a jet-setting gentlemen (without anyone knowing about your discounts or heaven forbid, paper coupons!)
Looking like a baller without a baller’s budget – it’s a no-brainer.
Taking It For A Sneaky Test Drive
It sounds good on paper, but how about in practice? I decided to take time off between protein bars and black tie events to go on a little adventure, my AMEX in tow.
Up first: DJs, my go-to spot for Nudie Jeans thanks to their extensive selection. I scored a pair of Thin Finns in Washed. This was a particularly good occasion to be buying new denim as I had dropped a size – special thanks to Jesse Hogan at AGOGA for that.
With the adventure off to a good start, I made my way to Country Road. At my second stop I picked up some perspex picture frames. Super heavy, but a nice way to display photos of your family without looking dicky. It’s freshened up the homestead.
While on the kick of revitalising spaces, I hit Harvey Norman to fit out the office. Brand new desktop monitors, USBs, all the computer peripheries a man could want…the place looks so legit even Zuckerberg might be jealous. Next stop – Global 500?
Last but not least, after all that hard work it was time for a holiday. All work and no play makes Luc a dull boy. Booking online with Virgin Australia Holidays I decided to make a mini break out of a wedding in Byron.
From start to finish, it was a perfect four-day weekend away. Joyous celebrations, amazing beachside accommodation, bookended by exemplary in-air service, and I returned feeling refreshed and ready to take on the world again.
Cheers to AMEX for letting Australians shop like celebrities and save like starving artists.
Now excuse me while I recover from my spending spree…
American Express are giving card members more than 300,000 chances to save with AMEX Offers between May and June. Offers mentioned in this post may be capped out but you can view all currently available Offers here.
