If Milan Fashion Week has taught us anything this season, it’s that if you don’t own an unstructured blazer (think unlined, relaxed cotton-y fabric, with minimal add-ons such as pockets) then get one – pronto!
From pinstripe to denim, rustic browns to florals, it’s all about the single-breasted, relaxed blazer – and the best thing is, you can wear it how you like – top jacket button down up with printed shirt and tie, or open with a plain cotton tee.
For casual looks, double denim continues to leave an indigo stain on Milan, offering overalls over jean shirts; a longline Chambray shirt – with uneven buttoning, and mid-wash slim jeans; and several denim jackets – one coming patched with different blue cloths for a collage effect.
Finally, street chic remains on high alert with monochrome looks – namely black summer jackets over white shirts, black jeans and derbies – parading the Milanese alleys, or slightly bolder with graphic-print button shirts, paired with tailored trousers and patent black lace-ups.
