Gentlemanly purveyors of fine clothing today have something to be giddy about. Celebrated menswear designer Tom Ford has announced a brand new partnership with Mr Porter and its parent site, Net-A-Porter, as its first ever exclusive online retailer.
The eponymous label renowned for its exquisite garments will offer their finest ready-to-wear range to the online world this year. Net-A-Porter will receive their first sampling of Tom Ford in July whilst the dapper men of the world will have to wait until September to get their hands on Tom Ford gear via Mr Porter.
This news is especially significant as in the past, Tom Ford have only selectively distributed their ready-to-wear collections through 110 Tom Ford boutiques. The rest are then allocated to their partnered department stores.
Come September, Mr Porter will be offering an edited range of Tom Ford’s contemporary FW15 collection which includes tailoring, formal wear, luxury casual wear, shoes, eyewear, accessories and grooming collections.
Natalie Massenet, Founder and Chairman of The NET-A-PORTER Group, said that Tom Ford is currently one of the most recognisable and coveted brands in the fashion industry.
“We are proud to introduce our audience of over 9 million luxury fashion consumers to the world of Tom Ford.”
She added that, “his designs are made with the modern, stylish confident man and woman in mind, the very individuals that we celebrate and cater to.”
“We and Tom Ford pride ourselves on innovation, quality, luxury and customer service above all else. We cannot wait to put Mr Ford’s amazing product into the hands of our customers globally.”
Ford also added to the mutual fanfare at the announcement stating, “I have the utmost respect for Natalie Massenet and both Net-A-Porter and Mr Porter and am happy that they will be the first on-line retailers to sell Tom Ford ready-to-wear.”
