The famous Eintracht Frankfurt colours are getting a makeover for the 2015-16 football season, courtesy of Nike. Like an up-and-coming Hollywood starlet, the club’s red and black stripes have slimmed down. The shirt now features narrow red lines against a black background, a V-neck collar with a red band at the back and a broad red stripe down each side of the torso.
Nike says the update “reflects the club’s forward-thinking ambition” while honouring its storied past. The design takes cues from a 1970s kit aesthetic, but the tech is all 21st century. Nike’s legendary fabric technology, moisture management and environmental sustainability are in full swing, including Dri-FIT technology to keep players cooler, drier and more comfortable as they tear up the pitch.
