Ciao Firenze! It’s that time of year again – Pitti Uomo – when the best-dressed men in Italy and beyond come together for four days of street-style magic.
The most prestigious men’s wear trade show in the world, Pitti Uomo sees editors, fashion buyers and retailers convene over Italian craftsmanship and those luxury collections – yet to be released. And, Pitti Uomo 88 has adopted a rather bold theme for Spring/Summer 2016 – ‘colour’.
Designer Oliviero Baldini, sets the scene in Florence with a kaleidoscopic backdrop right here in the Fortezza da Basso. He’s mastered a series of colour installations and light displays – the perfect atmosphere for a vibrant summer, right in the heart of the old city.
This season we’re teaming up with our friends Peroni who – like us, appreciate the finer things in life – be it a cold, crisp drink on a balmy eve or a sharply-cut suit and Italian-made shoes.
With photographer Lauren Michelle Webb, we’ve captured the best looks Day One of Pitti, which – as spring suggests – boast explosively-coloured blazers; from the more traditional navy and cobalt blue, to turquoise, taupe and rose – or our season favourite, emerald green.
Italians aren’t shy with accessories. We’ve already seen bold moves like neon-mirrored shades, layers of beaded and metallic bracelets in orange, blue and pink, and metallic skull rings and insect tie pins. Then, there are the more classic add-ons, like polka-dot pocket squares in pastel hues that give a common blazer an extra kick without too much pre-thought.
