Day Two of Pitti Uomo looked a lot like a rainbow had just exploded. But that’s a good thing. After a last year’s domination of blue – be it navy, cobalt or the powdery hue – it’s refreshing to see other colours exploiting blazers, jackets and double-breasted suits.
Lilac has featured both Day One at Pitti Uomo and today, proving the light purple is a fresh, not-so feminine, shade for men’s wear in spring. Paired with white and navy, the analogous colour matching is a foolproof look, and shouldn’t be reserved just for the braver gent.
Of course, blue continues to be seen, but in reworked windowpane checks and rustic-look linens. Contrast buttons on double-breasted suits offer a quirky look, and statement shades – from mirrored lenses to neon blue frames – are as vibrant as silky, hyped-up pocket squares.
