Today felt blue – but in a good way – when hitting the streets of Milan, marking Day 3 of fashion week. I’m not just talking about safe navy or springtime pastel blue (though they were here), but blue as a more summery, rustic hue which felt timely as the temperature rose.
Cotton linen blazes in organic-wash blue were the feature in Milan, either double or single-breasted; each jacket carrying an effortlessness in putting-it-all-together, over a half-tucked white tee or cotton shirt and messy silk neck tie.
Statement suits, perfect for summer days, broke out in micro spots, neon reds and plum too, balanced by the elegance of the more traditional Milanese men who couldn’t go past a pastel blue windowpane check and cobalt chinos. See? More blue.
