The gadget world rarely sleeps and neither do we. Why is this good news for you? We get to hunt down the week’s coolest shit in the name of work.
#1 TL3 Racing Simulator
Control pads are for kids. Real men who want to own the racetrack use the TL3 Racing Simulator, one of the world’s most advanced and realistic racing simulators money can buy. The system utilises three perfectly calibrated projectors to display a massive 5760 x 1080 image across the screen to replicate an exacting windscreen into real-world racing. The cockpit position is also variable, allowing you the correct driving position whether you’re in a Ferrari, tank or F1 car.
#2 Maserati Boomerang
True to its name, the Boomerang hailing from 1972 has returned and will be auctioned off at Bonhams in September. The car itself has a rather intriguing history attached to it. A concept vehicle to begin with, it later received a functional powertrain and engine in the form of a 300hp V8 package which could get the car to 300km/h. It was also designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro who was responsible for the Lotus Esprit and Nikon D4 camera.
#3 Skylodge Cliff Capsule
This is what happens when someone decides to take ‘living on the edge’ quite literally. Situated in Peru, thrill-dwellers can now bunk up in the Natura Vive Skylodge – a set of three transparent glass capsules dangling precariously over the cliffs of the Sacred Valley of Cuzcoo, Peru. It can accommodate up to eight people with each cabin featuring windows, ventilation ducts, a sectioned off bathroom with toilet and sink, interior lighting, and a view of the 400ft drop to the valley below you.
#4 GoPro HERO4
The next evolution of the famous GoPro has arrived with the HERO4 Session. The latest unit claims to be 50% smaller and 40% lighter than the standard GoPro body whilst retaining its waterproof credentials. The sensor inside allows for 1080p video recording at 60fps. Other features include a 2 hour continuous record time and built-in Bluetooth and Wi-Fi for quick file transfers.
#5 Marley Chant Bluetooth Speaker
Marley have brought out their latest mid-tier portable speaker for lovers of audio who are constantly on the move. Besides great sounding audio, the cool speaker design is also something to take note of. The unit is nestled inside a REWIND carry bag that’s made from crushed recycled bottles mixed with reclaimed hemp and organic cotton to give it a uniquely premium texture (do not try to light it up). If you’re after an affordable package which punches above its weight in sound and has call answering features built in then this is your new amigo.
#6 Crisis Chair
When chairs get fancy, this is the mesmerising result. Call it strange, abstract, whatever. We think it’s pretty damn cool. The unique design comes handmade from Teak wood with chrome and bronze with white leather padded round cushion back. It’s also guaranteed to make your guests second guess before sitting on it. Nonetheless a fine looking piece of furniture.
