No one really knows how strong the force is until you find it’s logo emblazoned across a fleet of passenger aeroplanes. That’s exactly what the Walt Disney Company and Japan’s All Nippon Airways have done, teaming up to commission three Star Wars-themed planes over a five year contract.
The three variants are fittingly named the R2-D2 Boeing 78-9 Dreamliner jet, the BB-8 Boeing 777-300ER and the Star Wars decorated aircraft. IT’s not just a flashy paint job though. Inside passengers will find Star Wars chairs, cutlery and napkins whilst the in-flight entertainment will consist of the first six chapters in the Star Wars saga.
The first plane to take to the air is the R2-D2 78-9 Dreamliner which will fly 89 lucky passengers from October the 18th. The BB-8 and Star Wars plane will follow suit from November onwards.
