With his blond hair and approachable smile, Nat Young is the perfect picture of a laidback surfer stereotype. But don’t be confused by either of those, or the face full of freckles – Young is a serious competitor, and he’s set his sights on a world title.
To get there, he visits Nike Trainer Joey Wolfe for gruelling workout sessions five days per week. Wolfe’s workouts put Young’s strength, endurance, flexibility and balance to the test via targeted routines designed to address the physical demands unique to surfing.
