Bear trap foot pegs, short levers, alloy front and rear fenders, a short seat, rear loop conversion, a headlight and mounts, a two-into-two full stainless exhaust system – just a few entries on the lengthy list of custom parts Down & Out Cafe Racers contributed to this beautiful bike.
A customer requested this reworked 2015 Triumph Thruxton for the Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride in London, giving the shop only three weeks to produce a Hollywood-worthy makeover. Multiple small components were swapped out, but the biggest change was a visual one: a wide fork kit made by Fastec Racing, and 16×3 wheels with bigger tires.
Other additions include a prototype stainless steel rack and baseplate, and the custom seat Down & Out uses on all their Triumph builds. Engine work was minimal, but a modified airbox, custom stainless exhaust system and ECU remap give it a subtle boost.
The customer requested a clean-looking bike – something custom, but not over the top, so Down & Out focused primarily on the aesthetic. The finishing touch is a lick of gold and black paint by Pro Kustom.
