The new Monster claims the title of the most powerful naked Ducati with increased power and speed over its predecessor, the 1200 S. In fact, it produces almost 10 percent more power and 5.5 percent more torque, it’s also 2kg lighter despite its extra muscle.
A new twin-cylinder engine means the 1200 R can express its full potential with a full, fluid supply even at low speeds, making it perfect for riding on the road or between the kerbs of the track. Other features include fully adjustable suspension and shock by Ohlins, and a Brembo braking system.
In terms of looks, the Monster 1200 R is sporty, compact, with lightweight lines and takes much of its inspiration from the Ducati Panigale with three-spoked forged wheels.
The Monster 1200 R will be available in two colours: Ducati Red with a matching colour frame and Dark Chrome wheels, and the Thrilling Black with Dark Chrome frame and wheels. The public will get its first glimpse of Ducati’s new baby at the upcoming EICMA in Milan, Italy.
