If you haven’t already heard of Phil Knight, he’s the co-founder of Nike and now’s a good time to be knocking on his door. Ranked by Forbes as number 18 on the 2015 brand-power list, Nike has made $28 billion in sales based on the latest fiscal year, and as such, Knight is now literally rolling in it.
While the 77-year-old stepped down from his role as CEO for a chairman position over 10 years ago, there is no sign of the cash flow slowing down. In fact, Knight’s still making bank as Nike shares increase in value. With a reported net worth of $24.7 billion as of August 2015, Forbes also just named Knight the 35th richest person in the world.
“For me, Nike has always been more than just a company — it has been my life’s passion,” says Knight in a statement from Nike.
“For myself, I intend to continue to work with Nike and look forward to contributing to its future well after my chairmanship ends.”
Nike isn’t going anywhere but up and Phil Knight appears to be a testament to that.
