Before James Dean was a ‘Rebel Without A Cause’, he was a budding actor in need of a big break.
Retelling the moments leading up to the actor’s success, director Anton Corbijn and his film ‘Life’ documents the relationship between Dean (Dan DeHaan) and photographer Dennis Stock (Robert Pattinson) – friend and visual promoter of the rising star.
The film follows the pair as they travel to Los Angeles, New York, and Dean’s home state of Indiana, developing a friendship along the way.
Stock took many of the now famous Dean portraits including a shot of the actor walking along Times Square in the rain – the collar of his coat popped-up while he smoked a cigarette.
Corbijn called his work with Pattinson and DeHaan a “tremendous experience.”
‘Life’ arrives in select theatres on December 4. In the meantime, watch the trailer below.
