Ex-Sydney Swans Star Adam Goodes Joins David Jones

Barely a month since Adam Goodes announced his retirement from the AFL, the ex-Sydney Swans star has re-emerged as the new face of fashion for retail chain David Jones.

Goodes explained that his new role with the department store would enable him to tackle the issues that mattered to him such as education whilst enabling him to act as an advisor for indigenous reconciliation. This initiative forms part of the South African-owned department store’s ‘reconciliation action plan’ (RAP).

“As part of my role I will support David Jones in promoting positive change in the areas of environment, ethical sourcing and community,” he said.

“I believe when heritage organisations such as David Jones have a RAP, they play an important role in ‘closing the gap’ by creating an inclusive society and promoting change.”

Goodes will stand alongside the store’s current ambassadors including Jessica Gomes, Jason Dundas, Emma Freedman, Montana Cox and Tim Rogers.
