Tropical Thailand has presented us with yet another stunning resort built amongst the trees of sunny Koh Samui.
Sicart & Smith Architects were charged with designing this new boutique resort called Suan Kachamudee. Given the structure’s unique location on a hill with stunning ocean views, construction was no walk in the park with steep inclines, granite rocks and lush vegetation all making it impossible to build a conventional building.
What the designers did was implement natural elements such as the massive granite stones across the site, essentially building around it to enhance the contrast between natural features and the modern architecture of sharp angles.
The resort features 8 bedrooms separated across 5 blocks and includes a spa, swimming pool and expansive living area.
