The sex, the drugs, the rock ‘n’ roll… it’s all here in the new trailer for HBO‘s upcoming 1970s music industry drama, Vinyl.
The series stars Bobby Cannavale as Richie Finestra, a record label president trying to save his company without destroying everyone around him. The ensemble cast includes Olivia Wilde as Finestra’s wife, along with Ray Romano, Juno Temple, Max Casella, Jack Quaid, P.J. Byrne and even James Jagger, son of Mick, as frontman for a burgeoning punk band called Nasty Bits.
The team behind the scenes of Vinyl is equally impressive. Martin Scorsese and Mick Jagger (because who else would you want on a show about the 70s music scene?) are on board as executive producers, joined by Boardwalk Empire creator Terence Winter as showrunner.
The 10-episode first season will premiere in January with a pilot written by Winter and directed by Scorsese.
