Maybe you caught the clip of Jimmy Fallon showing off the J.Crew Pocket Dial – an iPhone case disguised to look like a pocket square – on his show. Maybe you thought he was joking. He wasn’t.
The Pocket Dial is a real, totally actually happening, accessory now sold by J.Crew. After seeing countless guys walking around with smartphones peeking out of their suit pockets, Fallon had the ingenious idea to pop a pocket square on top. He made a prototype, pitched the idea to J.Crew and boom – a pocket square for the Millennial generation was born.
It sounds silly, but the Pocket Dial is surprisingly well thought out. The pocket square is removable, so you can change the design, change its location on the case to accommodate different size pockets, or ditch it entirely. Used on its own, the leather case is a handsome iPhone accessory for every day.
And there’s another important perk. Jimmy Fallon and J.Crew are donating all proceeds from the sale of the Pocket Dial to the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, a Kenyan charity dedicated to protecting elephants and other animals from poaching.
