We’re no strangers to splashing out on a nice bottle of booze when the occasion calls for it, but this takes things to a whole new level.
Patron Tequila has teamed up with luxury crystal makers Lalique to produce a bottle of extra añejo tequila worth a whopping US$7,600. The hand-crafted crystal bottle is “inspired by the weber blue agave plant” and topped off with an amber stopper representing the “piña,” the heart of the plant.
Inside is a blend composed of some of Patron’s oldest tequilas. Master distiller Francisco Alcaraz matured them in a combination of new American oak barrels, as well as new and old French oak, to create “complex notes of sweet caramel, honey, vanilla, dried fruits and nuts.”
Dubbed ‘Patrón En Lalique Serie 1,’ Patron’s extravagant collaboration will be limited to just 500 bottles worldwide.
