Connected is the first attempt by a luxury Swiss brand to combine traditional watchmaking with today’s technology. And it does so beautifully. The watch looks like an actual watch, not a calculator strapped to your wrist. Titanium and sapphire blend seamlessly with top touchscreen tech and the Android operating system.
Key features include Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, a built-in microphone, a gyroscope, a tilt-detection sensor, a haptic engine and a true chronograph. Other functions come courtesy of Google, like Google Fit, Google Translate and “OK Google” voice activation. Four thousand more native apps are available for download. The sophisticated smartwatch also offers numerous display options in the form of bold, custom themes.
As fond as everyone is of the iPhone, it’s nice to see a smartwatch from someone other than Apple. The TAG Heuer Connected is set to retail for $1,500 USD online and in stores.
