The second trailer for Quentin Tarantino’s highly anticipated Western thriller The Hateful Eight has arrived. Plot details are still scarce, but it’s impossible to worry when you know Tarantino’s unique brand of epic batshittery is on the way.
What we do know is that the film follows eight ruthless strangers who are trapped in a blizzard a few years after the Civil War. We also know it was shot in an ultrawide aspect ratio predominately used in the ’50s and ’60s, with lenses unearthed from the Panavision archives. And we know it has a rockstar cast, including Kurt Russell, Samuel L. Jackson and Tim Roth.
With Tarantino behind the camera, there should be plenty of quirky and gratuitous violence to look forward to. The film gets a limited release on Christmas Day, followed by wide distribution on January 8.
