Uber Is Set To Be Legalised In NSW

uber

The taxi vs. Uber war is set to come to a close with news this morning via the Daily Telegraph that Transport for NSW is planning to legalise the ride-sharing service in NSW next month.

Even though Uber is currently operating outside regulation without licensed providers, resulting in hefty fines, the company has continued to work with state transport agencies to have it recognised as a legal method of transport.

Uber has finally come to an agreement with Transport for NSW, under the condition that drivers pay a fee to operate their service under the new plan while taxis will retain the exclusive right to use cab ranks around the state.

Uber drivers will also need to undergo further safety checks on their vehicles in order to operate in NSW.

Congratulations, Uber.
