Get your sneakers on gentlemen, this Friday the 13th of November is Diabetes Australia’s annual Walk to Work Day.
The charity marks its 18th year running in 2015 and will encourage employees and employers to build regular walking into their daily routine to raise awareness for diabetes whilst living a healthier life.
The campaign’s other objectives include alleviating the reliance on motor vehicles, promoting wider use of public transport and improving the overall air quality. Participants needn’t actually walk all the way to work though. It’s simply about encouraging the use of your legs so you can use public transport half way or squeeze in a 30 minute walk on your lunch break.
To participate in the great cause, simply register your details on the Walk to Work website and start moving them feet.
