Baume & Mercier have taken the covers off their latest addition to the Clifton collection ahead of the 2016 Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie (SIHH) in Geneva next January.
The new design is a small complication timepiece which successfully marries elegant details with the signature watchmaking functions of the Swiss watchmaker.
Starting off with a chronograph function with a complete calendar, the timepiece is aiming to cater to the discerning gent with an appreciation for both modern and vintage cues.
To achieve this, the timepiece utilises a Swiss-made Valjoux 7751 caliber automatic movement. Its details are further enhanced with a moon phase disk which completes one rotation every 29 and a half days – that’s one lunar month for all of you playing at home.
The caseback is crafted from sapphire crystal to allow a rare glimpse inside the luxurious movement. What you’ll find is a superb finish on the snail and “Côtes de Genève” decoration on the oscillating mass. There’s also perlage finishing on the bridges and plates as well as blued-steel screws.
The case itself clocks in at 43mm and is mounted on a black alligator strap with a secure triple folding clasp for supreme comfort.
