Keen to avoid the boring signet ring as a gift this silly season? Garogosi has just launched a unique collection of men’s jewellery cast from the surface of the Mer De Glace, France’s largest ice glacier.
With a unique creation technique, Garogosi precisely records the GPS location of exactly where on the glacier each individual mould was cast.
Items from the collection capture the power and fragility of one of the most powerful forces on earth, as Garogosi puts it “brief moments of time – now passed, melted, eroded and lost.” At 7km long and 200m deep, Mer De Glace is a modern day wonder but not for long. It’s predicted to retreat by as much as 1200m by 2040 and is currently moving at a rate of 1cm per hour.
Get your Christmas wish lists out fellas, before it’s gone forever.
