1996 was a good year for stuff like the Olympics, Peter Andre and a little sci-fi film starring Will Smith and Jeff Goldblum which became a global hit. Twenty years on (feel old yet?), the aliens are back to finish off the job they started, going up against the original cast of Jeff Goldblum as the broody scientist and Bill Pullman as the gun-totting President with a pocket book of empowering speeches. Notable absence? Old mate Will Smith who couldn’t be secured for the film due to his exorbitant fees as one of Hollywood’s highest paid actors today.
They do have Aussie Liam Hemsworth though. And as Goldblum’s character puts it in the trailer – a mother ship bigger than the last. Welcome to Earth. Again.
