Bad news if the McLaren 675LT Spider is on your Christmas list: even Santa couldn’t get hold of the supercar. Despite its US$372,600 price tag, McLaren sold all 500 675LT Spider build slots in just two weeks.
It’s not surprising when you check out the specs. The car packs an upgraded 3.8-litre twin-turbo V8, rated at 666 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque. Top speed is reportedly 203 mph (327 kph) with 0-62 set at 2.9 seconds. The Spider also adds a retractable hardtop to the extended long-tail bodywork first seen on the coupe.
To coincide with McLaren’s major sale, ex-Formula One driver Bruno Senna took the 675LT Spider for a spin on camera. The nephew of legendary driver Ayrton Senna puts it through its paces first on a track and then on the road. Watch the video above and try not to cry on Christmas morning when one of these isn’t in your driveway with a big red bow.
