We named it one of the 10 most dangerous roads in the world for a reason. Norway’s Atlantic Ocean Road is stunningly scenic, but taking in the view could cost you your life. The safest option? Doing the drive from behind a screen.
Built in the 1980s, the road and its eight breath-taking bridges has become one of Norway’s most popular attractions. The route is constantly battered by gusts of wind and surging water, some so powerful that they could wipe out an unlucky car. As long as all four wheels remain on the ground, the worst thing you’ll get is a free car wash.
There’s no substitute for experiencing the real thing, but the video above offers a taste of what it takes to drive the Atlantic Ocean Road.
