The original Blade Runner sits as one of the most influential sci-fi films to ever be created.
In the capable hands of Director Ridley Scott, the film saw ex-police officer Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford) hunt down obsolete cyborgs in a distant future. Well fans of the cult classic are about to get even more good news. Alcon Entertainment, the studio behind the project, have confirmed that Harrison Ford will be returning for the long-awaited sequel.
Plot details have not been revealed yet but what is known is that Ryan Gosling will star alongside the 73-year-old actor whilst Ridley Scott will not be returning to direct the sequel. Instead, Denis Villeneuve who looked after Sicario and Prisoners will be taking on the director’s seat. Hampton Fancher who was the co-writer for the original film teams up with Michael Green to pen the screenplay for the sequel which “takes place several decades after the conclusion of the 1982 original.”
Much like the current Star Wars franchise you can assume.
