Holy bombshell, Batman. Netflix just announced that its insanely popular streaming service will launch in 130 new countries, bringing the grand total up to 190. Soon almost every country on Earth will be able to experience the joys and heartache of Netflix and chill.
Company chief executive Reed Hastings shared the news at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. Only a handful of disputed areas remain Netflix-less now, none of which will surprise you: China, Syria, North Korea and Crimea.
The cherry on top of the announcement is Hastings’ prediction that the end of geoblocking is nigh. Not only will the world be able to Netflix and chill together, they’ll be able to do it while watching the same library of content, regardless of location.
What a way to start 2016.
