Nike doesn’t gather inspiration from any old mate going for a jog. Before they’ve even put pencil to paper, Nike designers gather insight from actual athletes. The result? A performance approach applied to lifestyle design that delivers innovation for everyday life. In other words, Nike works hard to design and deliver athlete-grade sports gear for us plebs.
The new Nike Tech Knit is no exception. Athletes, whether jogging or competing in a triathlon, experience fluctuating body temperatures and need gear that responds to their varying level of activity. That’s where Tech Knit comes in, and it’s all about the ‘natural thermoregulation process’.
Nike collaborated with yarn specialists, computer programmers and knitting machine technicians to develop the Tech Knit Windrunner jacket, pant and tee that offer warmth and breathability for more than 14 hours of movement.
Ergonomic zones within the design allow for flexibility and ventilation while others are reinforced for warmth determined by clever heat mapping. Plus, they’re super comfortable so you can get your ‘activewear‘ on, rain, hail or shine.
The Nike Tech Knit Collection will be available from nikestore from February 4.
