The first trailer for Ben Wheatley’s High-Rise was a fake ad for the building that gives the film its name. The second hints more at the actual action, but should still leave a good sense of “Wtf?” rattling around in your brain.
The film, adapted from the J.G. Ballard novel of the same name, stars Tom Hiddleston as Robert Laing, a young doctor who moves into a very unique residential tower. It doesn’t end well. The trailer shows Laing slowly surrendering to madness along with the rest of the high-rise residents in a feast of sex, violence and insanity.
Directed by Ben Wheatley, the sci-fi thriller also stars Sienna Miller, Jeremy Irons, Luke Evans, Elisabeth Moss, James Purefoy, Reece Shearsmith, Peter Ferdinando and Dan Renton Skinner. Reviews have been largely positive since High-Rise debuted at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2015.
