Are you guilty of the old ‘who’s free tonight?’ Facebook status, only to get crickets or a single pity like? Well, Woez is the answer to all of your social butterfly woes. It’s a new mobile social network that helps users find activity partners.
Might sound a little desperate, but it’s really all about on-demand socializing and connecting likeminded people. Magnificently named Woez founder Amos Winbush III told the Observer, “If you are in a new city and you don’t know anyone, you come to our platform and say, ‘I want to go out for a drink’.” The system will let users it believes to be compatible with you know about your idea, the person who initiated the ‘hang’ can then decide who to let join and announce the place and time to everyone. The group will eventually become permanent and initiate more outings.
Winbush compares the concept behind Woez to Shia LaBoeuf’s #AllMyMovies performance art piece where he has invited fans to watch all his movies with him, consecutively in reverse chronological order over 3 days, 24 hours a day.
Forget hookups, 2016 is all about that digital bromance.
