With just days to go until the official reveal of the Aston Martin DB11 at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show, a new teaser video highlights the car’s heritage and offers a shadowy glimpse at what’s to come.
The short clip reflects on a handful of notable past Astons. There’s the elegant DB2, responsible for laying a foundation of excellence for all future DBs. There’s the ultra-glamourous DB5, the car that forever linked the names Aston Martin and James Bond. There’s also the DB9, the game-changing model that will be replaced by the DB11.
What happened to 10? The DB10 name was assigned to a special car built for the Bond movie Spectre. Although a DB10 from the film recently sold at auction, the model will never go into production. Instead the jump from DB9 to DB11 will be used to symbolise just how much of a leap forward Aston Martin believe the DB11 to be.
With the Geneva Motor Show just around the corner, it won’t be long until the public can finally see that leap for themselves.
