Urban freeclimber James Kingston has reached new heights – literally – by scaling the tallest residential building in the world.
Marina 101, which towers over Dubai Marina, is not yet completed, allowing Kingston to use cranes to reach the summit. The lofty building will officially stand 426m when it’s finished, but while under construction its highest point is thought to be a vertigo-inducing 450m.
Kingston posted a six minute video of the death-defying climb to his YouTube channel. In the description, the daredevil says it took an hour and a half for him to reach the roof of the building. “This is by far the tallest structure I’ve climbed so far,” he writes. He also tells the harrowing tale of his journey to the tip of the crane’s arm. Even knowing he survives, the story will make your palms sweat.
