It’s a proud moment when the professional pissheads of Australia are recognised for producing the best spirits. At the recent World Drinks Awards in London, Bundaberg Distilling Company’s premium range was crowned the best rum in the world.
Also once named the world’s best dark rum, Bundaberg Blenders Edition, along with 5 other finalists were judged by a panel of international experts across three rounds, scoring merit on nose, palate, finish, balance, character, complexity and quality.
It was a big day for Bundaberg, also winning the world’s top golden rum for Bundaberg Small Batch, an honour expressed by senior brand manager Duncan Little. “[We’re] proud to be flying the flag for Australian rum across the world…to be recognised on the global stage and amongst such high calibre rums is a testament to the quality of our product – and to the dedication of our team.”
Bundaberg Blenders Edition is a “complex yet sweet rum”, “layered with hints of raisins, vanilla and spice,” and at only $90 for a 700ml bottle, you could savour some of the world’s best rum for next to nothing.
